Trump picks Matt Gaetz to be Attorney General. President-elect Donald Trump has appointed Florida Republican Representative Matt Gaetz as his attorney general. Gaetz, a prominent supporter of Trump in the House, is currently under investigation by the House Ethics Committee for alleged sexual misconduct. In a rare statement issued in June, the bipartisan committee noted that some of the accusations against Gaetz “merit continued review.” Gaetz has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
