Every time there’s a school mass shooting, politicians come out in force. Not an attempt to fix the problem but to get brownie points with their base. The left raise their arms and demand a change. The right raises their fists to protect their gun rights.
Zero gets done.
The rhetoric slows down and both sides go back to business as usual. The clown show ends until the next mass shooting. This is nothing but a total disregard for the victims, families and communities that experienced such horrific loss.
Finger pointing back and forth is the norm. Politicians on the right get more campaign dollars when they speak up to keep guns flowing in this country. Politicians on the left get more campaign dollars when they promise they are finally going to do something about this problem.
Zero gets done.
Both sides don’t give a damn about the victims, families and communities. Hollow words. Radical gun defenses. Cheap-ass phrases like “thoughts and prayers.” Year after year, decade after decade. More lives lost and more are set to die. The United States of America is one of the most dangerous countries to live in on this planet. There are third world countries that are safer to live in than the US. YET . . .
Zero gets done.
Why is this acceptable? Because Americans are making this acceptable. Mass shootings have become they way of life here. It’s the norm. In most cases it happens on a weekly basis. Many times a mass shooting happens and the majority of Americans don’t know about it. This is because the story is buried back on a website under stories like what’s happening with the Kartrashians.
When we stop allowing a few big-mouth buffoons narrate how everybody should be carrying a gun in this country; when we stop allowing a very few politicians claim they’re trying to do something, then walk away with hollow words; until we stop accepting this – get ready for the next mass shooting. It’s coming to a neighborhood near you.
