Over 500,000 people protested in Tel Aviv, Israel

The crowd was demanding an end to the Gaza war and a hostage release deal. The demonstrations, part of a nationwide stoppage, saw over a million participants across the country. Families of hostages, including Lishay Miran-Lavi, whose husband Omri has been held for 681 days, called for urgent action. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu criticized the protests, claiming they delay hostage releases.

Israel announced plans to relocate Gaza residents

The military will provide tents and shelter equipment to ensure civilian safety. The relocation precedes a planned offensive to seize northern Gaza City, described as a Hamas stronghold. The move has sparked international concern over the fate of Gaza’s 2.2 million residents. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized the operation targets only combatants.

U.S. producer prices surged in July

This marks the strongest increase in several months and adding pressure to forecasts for inflationary trends. Economists caution that the uptick could influence Federal Reserve decisions on interest rates. The rise was largely attributed to elevated costs in manufacturing and energy sectors. Analysts warn this could complicate efforts to temper consumer price growth. Market watchers remain alert to data ahead from upcoming economic reports.

Israeli forces have intensified operations in Gaza City

This has resulted in the deaths of 123 Palestinians in a single day. A Hamas delegation has arrived in Egypt to negotiate a potential ceasefire. The Israeli military’s actions are part of a plan to displace nearly one million Palestinians to southern camps. At least eight people, including three children, have died from starvation due to a blockade on food supplies. Protests worldwide demand justice for slain Palestinian journalists, including Al Jazeera’s Anas al-Sharif.

Israeli airstrikes in Gaza have killed at least 89 people

This included 31 trying to get aid. The attacks targeted displaced civilians in al-Mawasi, an area Israel designated as a safe zone. Five more Palestinians, including two children, died from famine and malnutrition due to Israel’s ongoing blockade. The strikes also wounded over 500 others, overwhelming local hospitals. Palestinian health officials report 227 total deaths from starvation since the siege began.

In Sudan, 63 people have died from malnutrition

This happened in the city of El Fasher in northern Darfur, as reported by a regional health official. The city remains under siege by the UAE-backed Rapid Support Forces, escalating the humanitarian crisis. The death toll is likely higher, as the figure only accounts for those who reached hospitals. The ongoing conflict between the Rapid Support Forces and Sudan’s army since 2023 has severely limited access to aid.
